There are all kinds of feelings out there about what happens next, now that a milestone has been achieved. Yet one common feeling/question runs amongst all of us, "will tomorrow will be better than today?"
Yes it is a new era and the skeptics wonder whether there are limitations associated with ones skin color to achieving especially when you are black? While those that are fervent supporters are wondering whether the odds are too great for this presidency to leave a positive mark any way.
Whatever the right answer is to the question above, United States of America has chosen a new direction that will impact the world more positively than otherwise. The United States of America has sent a resounding echo that for sure USA is a land of equal opportunity. If you make an effort in any directions of your choice and work hard toward it, Yes , you can realize your aspiration or dream.
The world over, the young ones who know a little bit about our past injustices and limitations on uniform playground can now claim that human rights are on the road to realizations irrespective of stereotypes that have inhibited our successes for a lo-o-ong time. Optimism will be the key phrase for these era, as all - black, white, yellow, short, fat and skinny, etc - map their dreams, with a realizations that Yes, they can!
Let the children of the world celebrate the joy of being human and work closely together in making our planet Earth the story of unity, peace and hope. It is true that things that unite us are more that those that do otherwise and Yes, We can!
For my daughter and son, this evolution is the positive reinforcement they so much need as they each morning ride school buses and attend classes where they are in the minority. Neema and Baraka and Neema. Yes, we can!
